I am a Lecturer in the School of Education at The University of Southampton.
I have a wide range of research interests across education, social science, and experimental philosophy. The majority of my research focuses on the assessment methodology, comparative judgement, and (the nature of) mathematical proof. Like many, I also have a growing interest in the role of genAI in the teaching and learning of mathematics.
I’m always interested in new projects and collaborators so feel free to get in touch at ben dot davies at soton dot ac dot uk
I was awarded my PhD in mathematics education from Loughborough University in 2019, and have previously held posts in the Departments of Mathematics at University College London (UCL) and West Virginia University (WVU).
